Pfizer Taiwan has received two major industry honors for three of its products, marking a significant recognition of advances in both cancer treatment and preventive medicine. The awards from the 2025 SNQ National Biotechnology and Medical Care Quality Award and the National Innovation Award highlight the company’s work in developing next-generation vaccines and a therapy for a difficult-to-treat blood cancer.
The SNQ award recognized three Pfizer products: a next-generation conjugate vaccine designed to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease, a prefusion antigen-based bivalent vaccine for respiratory viral infections, and a therapy for recurrent or refractory multiple myeloma. Among these, the bivalent respiratory vaccine also won the Bronze Prize in the Prescription Drug International Pharma category, becoming the only product honored in that category. The judging panel cited the company’s high standards in safety, quality, and innovative clinical value. Separately, the National Innovation Award honored two of the respiratory vaccines for their progress in vaccine technology and preventive medicine.
Cellina Yeh, country manager of Pfizer Taiwan, noted that the company has been advancing pharmaceutical innovation for 175 years, from the discovery of penicillin in 1928 to modern breakthroughs. She emphasized that as Taiwan faces rapid population aging and declining birth rates, preventive medicine is becoming more important. The design of these award-winning vaccines aligns with these societal trends, and Pfizer remains committed to building a more resilient public health system through vaccine innovation.
Beyond prevention, oncology remains a central focus. Pfizer is delivering breakthrough therapies for breast cancer, lung cancer, hematologic malignancies, and genitourinary cancers through advanced clinical trials and precision medicine. The goal is to ensure that more patients can benefit from scientific innovation.
Looking ahead, Pfizer Taiwan is deepening its commitment to six core ESG pillars: Climate Change, Product Innovation, Equitable Access and Pricing, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Product Quality and Safety, and Business Ethics. Guided by a philosophy of acting with purpose and putting people first, the company continues to harness innovation and science to strengthen Taiwan’s public health system and support the health of every family.
