Publication Criteria
Every candidate article must meet all of the following before it is considered for publication.
Source requirements
Stories must originate from peer-reviewed journals, accredited hospitals or universities, or official FDA and government announcements. We do not accept press releases from companies without corroborating third-party sources.
Positivity threshold
Every candidate article is scored on a 1-to-10 scale. Only articles scoring 7 or higher are considered for publication. The score reflects real-world benefit, scientific rigor, and clarity of evidence.
No speculation
We do not publish preliminary results unless they come from a completed, peer-reviewed study. Early-stage findings are noted clearly when included at all.
Editorial review
Every article is reviewed before publication to confirm the reporting accurately reflects the underlying research, without overstating results or omitting important caveats.
How the Curation Works
Our editorial team monitors new medical developments from trusted sources every day: peer-reviewed journals, university research centers, hospital announcements, and official FDA releases.
Here is what the process looks like in practice:
- We track publications and announcements from vetted institutions continuously.
- Each candidate article is evaluated and scored against our criteria for positivity, accuracy, and relevance.
- Stories that do not meet our standards are filtered out before publication.
- Summaries are written to be accurate, readable, and free of hype.
- Each article is reviewed for accuracy, including a check that the summary reflects the actual findings.
What We Commit To
We never publish speculative or unverified claims
If the science is not settled, we say so clearly, or we wait. We would rather miss an article than mislead a reader about their health.
We report accurately and without overstatement
Medical news is easy to sensationalise. We keep our summaries grounded in what the research actually shows, and flag limitations when they matter.
We do not accept sponsored content or paid placements
Editorial decisions are made entirely on the basis of our published criteria. No article has ever been included because of a financial relationship with any third party.
We correct our errors promptly and transparently
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note what changed. Accuracy matters more to us than the appearance of infallibility.
